Pulp & Paper

The Global Process removes the sediment from primary
fibre/spill ponds, site runoff ponds and secondary bio ponds while ponds
remain in operation. Slurries are either dredged into decant ponds or
dewatered. Dewatering minimizes the impact on landfills and returns the
pond to original design capacity.
Dewatering
The Sharples horizontal, counter current flow, high solids,
high 'g' force centrifuges provide rapid separation due to the density
differential between the water and the solid particles within the feed
matrix.
If required, flocculating polymers, mixed and stored in two
agitated polymer tanks onboard the module, are injected into the feed
prior to the centrifuge to aid separation.
Each of the centrifuges can process up to 264 U.S. gallons
(1m³)/minute of feed and produces two process phases, dry cake and
centrate. The dry cake is discharged to the conveyor system for subsequent
disposal and the centrate is returned to the source.
Dredging
The Global Surgical Lagoon Pumper is a modern, silent,
all-electric dredge designed for extremely accurate solids removal and low
turbidity operation.
There are no hydraulics, and therefore no potential for
hydraulic/diesel leaks and/or spills.
Dredging accuracy is controlled through the combination
cable/winch guidance system and the cutterhead boom depth indicator.
All dredging functions are electronically controlled. Safety is
enhanced, as the operator is not on the dredging unit while it is in
operation.
Screening/Conditioning
Dredging materials pass along a floating pipeline and onshore
to the screening/conditioning tank. Solids pass over a shaker screen for
debris removal.
Screened debris falls onto a dewatered sludge conveyor for
disposal. The rest of the stream enters the conditioning tanks for
mechanical agitation or homogenization.
